India veteran wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul shared an emotional social media post two days after the team's heartbreaking defeat against England in the third Test match at iconic Lord's Stadium in London. KL Rahul was India's standout performer with the bat in the third Test as he scored a century in the first innings and 39 in the second.
KL Rahul took his Instagram to share a social media post after India's defeat, saying that some games test your spirit and character.
"Some games are more than wins or losses. They test your spirit, your character and the learnings make you stronger" posted KL Rahul.
KL Rahul, who is featuring as an opener alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 after Rohit Sharma's retirement from the whites, has scored 375 runs in three Tests, including two centuries and one half-century. He is currently the fourth-highest run-getter in the five-Test match series.
After defeating India by 22 runs in the third Test, England takes a 2-1 lead in the five-Test match series. The fourth Test match will take place from 23-27 July at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
There were talks about Jasprit Bumrah's participation in the fourth Test because of workload management, but he will reportedly feature in the upcoming Test. Apart from Bumrah, India vice-captain Rishabh Pant suffered an injury during the Lord's Test while keeping wickets and left the field midway. After his injury, Dhruv Jurel came in a did wicketkeeping duties for India so there were concerns over his participation as well, but skipper Shubman Gill confirmed that he is fit and will play the fourth clash.
In the other camp, England spinner Shoaib Bashir has been ruled out of the remainder of the Tests after getting injured in the third Test. ECB announced Liam Dawson as his replacement for the upcoming Test.
