Sanju Samson hits century in the 4th T20I vs SA.

This was his third ton in 34 days.

India's star wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson slammed the third century of his T20I career during the fourth T20I between the Indian cricket team and South Africa which is being played at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, on November 15 (Friday). The span between his first ton and the third ton is just 34 days and 5 innings.

Samson also smashed a hundred in the third T20I against Bangladesh which was being played in Hyderabad and then he scored one in Durban during the first game of this series and now he has done it in the fourth game as well. He along with Tilak Varma helped India post a massive total against Proteas.

Sanju creates history

Sanju Samson made history by becoming the first Indian player to score more than one 100 runs in a bilateral T20I series. Samson scored 107 runs in last week's T20I series opener against South Africa in Durban, and he then scored a century off 51 balls in the series' fourth and final game in Johannesburg and remaine unbeaten on 109 runs.

In December 2023, Phil Salt became the first batter in world cricket history to reach two hundreds in a single bilateral series in men's T20I cricket. The England batter was joined on the elite list by Sanju Samson and later Tilak Varma also joined them as he comleteted his consecutive century.

Sanju and Tilak's rarest record

This was the first time that two batters have smashed individual hundreds in a T20I match between two Full Member sides and the third overall.

Both of their tons helped India post 283/1 against South Africa, which is Team India's second-highest score in T20Is and the fifth-highest overall in the history of cricket. They also joined an unbeaten 210-run partnership. Chasing this down is next to an impossible task but Proteas have some big heavy-hitters of their own and they will try to make this possible.
