Sanju Samson hits century in the 4th T20I vs SA.

Tilak Varma smashed a blazing ton as well.

Star Indian batter Sanju Samson made history by being the first Indian player to score more than 100 runs in a bilateral T20I series. After hitting 107 in last week's T20I series opener against South Africa in Durban, Samson went on to score a century off 51 balls in the series' fourth and final game in Johannesburg, on November 15. In the final of the four-match series, Samson led India's batting display in front of a crowded Wanderers Stadium, and he was in scorching form.

Sanju Samson on his knock

Sanju Samson spoke about his knock and said that he has seen a lot of faliures in life but kept on believeing on himself and it has finally paid off now. He also appreciated Abhishek and Tilak for helping him through the innings.

"[on what this means to him] It is a bit hard to tell right now since I'm breathing so fast. I have had so many failures in my life, got two hundreds and then two ducks, I kept on believing in myself, kept on working hard and it came off today. After a couple of failures there were a lot of things going on in my head, Abhishek helped me out early on and then Tilak as well. [on Tilak] I have had so many partnerships with him, he is a very young prospect and he is the future of Indian cricket and lovely to have a partnership with him. I don't like to talk much, last time I talked too much I got a couple of ducks, I would like to keep it simple and focus on what I can do. [on this total] That's what our captain was expecting from us, and we are happy we made it happen," said Sanju Samson in the mid-innings break.

Samson seemed to be trying to make up for the time he missed during his T20I career. Samson has got up to three T20I hundreds in a single month. He became the first player in men's T20Is to reach three hundred in a single calendar year. By striking a century off of 41 balls in Friday's fourth Twenty20 International, Tilak Varma also became a member of the elite list. Following his game-winning century in Centurion on Wednesday, it was his second hundred in as many innings.

This was the first time that two batters have smashed individual hundreds in a T20I match between two Full Member sides and the third overall. Both of their tons helped India post 283/1 against South Africa, which is Team India's second-highest score in T20Is and the fifth-highest overall in the history of cricket. They also joined an unbeaten 210-run partnership
