On-debut Saransh Jain struck twice on Day 4 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 290. Sonal Dinusha scored his second consecutive Test century but it wasn’t enough to help Sri Lanka avoid follow-on. The hosts were bowled out for 290. With rain threat hovering over Colombo Test, India skipper Shubman Gill opted to enforce the follow-on, giving his bowlers maximum overs to bowl out Sri Lanka again.

Sri Lanka still trail by 213 runs. India have more than five sessions to bowl out Sri Lanka if rain does not interrupt play.
Another ton for Dinusha
Sri Lanka's overnight score was 264/8, needing 39 runs to avoid the follow-on. Dinusha hit Jain for a six and a four in his first over. In the next over, he hit a four off Prasidh Krishna to reach his century from 147 balls.

Kumara throws away wicket, Sri Lanka miss chance to avoid follow-on
In his second over, Jain got Lahiru Kumara's wicket. He went for the big shot and was caught at deep cover-point by Dhruv Jurel who put in a dive. Kumara scored 12 runs from 58 balls in the 58-run partnership. After a couple of quiet overs, Dinusha edged one to slip fielder KL Rahul. The left-handed batter departed after scoring 103 runs from 162 balls, featuring eight fours and three sixes.
Before Jain's two wickets, Manav Suthar and Krishna took three wickets each. Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja bagged a wicket each as well. Apart from Dinusha, Pasindu Sooriyabandara made a crucial contribution of 80 runs from 133 balls.
Gill does what Morkel said after Day 3
"I know it's a cliche thing, but you know, with the weather around and sometimes the time it takes with taking the covers on and off, we want to try and get as many overs as possible to the Sri Lankans. So hopefully, we can get those wickets tomorrow and then be brave, put them in, and bowl well," Morkel had told the media after Day 3's play ended early due to rain.
