Indian cricket team suffered an embarrassing 32-run loss in the second ODI of the three-match series which was being played at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The first ODI also ended in a tie, despite the Men in Blue being in a position from it was easily winnable. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is the only player who has been able to perform with bat, no other player has shown that consistency with the bat. The star batter has shattered a lot of records and reached new milestones in the first two games and will have the opportunity to script yet another historic feat in the upcoming third ODI, on August 7 (Wednesday).

The Indian skipper already holds the record for most International sixes and most sixes as a captain. Now he has his eyes set on another massive record. In the third ODI, he would have the opportunity to get past legendary Chris Gayle in the list of batters with the most ODI sixes. He needs one six to equal Gayle's number and two to get past him in the tally. Rohit Currently has 330 sixes and is on the third spot in the list, above him, Gayle with 331 sixes, and the list is topped by Shahid Afridi who has 351 sixes in 50-over format.
Rohit's one-man show
Rohit Sharma is currently the highest run-scorer in this series with 122 runs in 2 matches with an astonishing average of 61. He is the only Indian batter to score a half-century and the only batter with two fifties in this ODI series. No other Indian batter has even scored one, which is also the major reason behind India's underwhelming performance. Rohit always gives his team a blazing start and makes it look easy to bat on a surface where the other 10 batters are even failing to score runs freely.
The Indian captain would be hoping to avoid a series loss against Sri Lanka and level the series 1-1 after winning the final ODI. He would be hoping that other players start contributing as well. Even India's batting maestro Virat Kohli would be eyeing to get some runs from his bat as he has not been able to perform that well yet.
