Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is taking on Charith Asalanka's Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI of the series which is being played at the R.Premdasa Stadium in Colombo, on August 7 (Wednesday). India is already trailing 1-0 in the series and it is a must-win game for them. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. During the first innings, star Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj and Lanka batter Kusal Mendis got into a heated altercation.

In the 39th over, Siraj was seen getting in a verbal spat with Kusal Mendis. After the third ball of the over, Mendis was able to avoid dismissal on a really good delivery. After this, Siraj was seen saying a couple of words directed towards Mendis which resulted in a heated exchange. However, things did not escalate further. The video of this is now going viral all across the social space at a rapid pace. Siraj was highly economical in this over as he only gave 1 run, he also dismissed Sadeera Samarawickrama in this over. Although, his overall numbers were not that impressive. He leaked away 78 runs in his 9-over spell and only got one wicket.

Mendis' 59 help Sri Lanka post 248/7

 

Kusla Mendis played a 569-run knock and helped his team reach a good total. Apart from him, Avishka Fernando scored 96 which was the most pivotal knock for the hosts in this match. Pathum Nissanka also scored a crucial 45 runs. As for India, debutant Riyan Parag picked up a three-wicket haul and was the pick of all Indian bowlers. This is a must-win game for the Men in Blue in order to avoid a series loss. On the other hand, a win here would ensure that the hosts have clinched their series 2-0.
