BCCI have announced rules and regulations for IPL 2025.

They have given a deadline to teams to announce their retention list.

BCCI has announced the retention policy for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Under this now each franchise can retain a maximum of five players in its team. Whereas it can also include one player in their team under the Right to Match card in the mega auction. In this way, in total, only six players can be seen playing with their old franchise. While the rest of the team may change. BCCI has now given the last date for releasing the retention list to all the teams. Before this, all the franchises will have to give the names of the players to be retained.

Final deadline for IPL retention list announcement

After the retention policy was introduced, all the teams started their preparations and are currently busy sorting out for the names of the players to be retained. BCCI has given time till 31st October to all the franchises to announce their final list. Any player who makes his debut for Team India before this day will be kept in the category of a capped player. If this does not happen then that player will remain in the uncapped category.

Big opportunity for three players

Mayank Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana, who are included in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh, have a big opportunity in their hand to make big money. If Harshit, Mayank and Nitish make their potential debut in the upcoming T20 series, then these three players will move from the uncapped to the capped players category. This means their franchise would not be able to retain them for the amount of 4 crores but would have to give a hefty amount for them from their purses.

Under the retention policy, the first player will be given Rs 18 crore, the second will be given Rs 14 crore and the third will be given Rs 11 crore. Whereas the fourth player will again be given Rs 18 crore and the fifth player will be given Rs 14 crore. In this way, if Harshit, Mayank and Nitish debut, their amount may see a massive increase.
