BIG NEWS: Karnataka's wicketkeeper-batter replaces injured Robin Minz in Gujarat Titans squad for IPL 2024

The Indian Premier League (IPL) on March 22 (Friday) announced that Gujarat Titans have named Karnataka's wicketkeeper-batter BR Sharath as the replacement for injured Robin Minz.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) on March 22 (Friday) announced that Gujarat Titans have named Karnataka's wicketkeeper-batter BR Sharath as the replacement for injured Robin Minz. After being involved in a bike accident, Robin Minz was ruled out from the 17th edition of the cash-rich tournament. Gujarat Titans, who won the IPL in 2022 and finished runners-up in 2023, secured the services of Sharath for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. 

Who is BR Sharath? 

BR Sharath is a 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Karnataka. The right-handed batter has never played in the IPL before but an injury to Minz opened the doors for Sharath to have a taste of the cash-rich tournament.

Talking about Sharath's record in domestic cricket, the Karnataka batter has played 28 T20s, scoring 328 runs at a strike rate of 118.84. He has one-half-century to his name in the shortest format of the game. 

Sharath has played 43 List-A matches and amassed 732 runs at a strike rate of 97.21. He has scored four half-centuries in 50-over cricket.

Talking about Sharath's First-Class career, the wicketkeeper-batter has scored 616 runs in 20 matches with the help of one ton and three half-centuries.
