Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru is going through a horrid run in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. They have lost five out of their six games and suffered the fourth straight loss of the season after Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indian secured a dominant 7-wicket win in match 25 of the IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium, on April 11 (Thursday). However, things are only getting worse for the fan-favorite franchise as their star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has suffered an injury and is likely to miss out on their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

As per the report from News 24, Maxwell suffered an injury in his right thumb while fielding in the match against Mumbai Indians. The star all-rounder is going through a dismal run in the ongoing season and has only scored 32 runs across six innings. This also includes three ducks and the third one happened in the MI clash.

 

Maxwell injured himself while attempting a catch of Suryakumar Yadav, the man who played a 52-run knock in just 19 balls and turned the tables completely against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Bengaluru suffer fifth loss

 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered their fifth loss of the season and the fourth straight one. They are currently stuck at the 9th spot on the points table. Another loss here can potentially end their remaining chances to make it into the playoffs.

 

RCB will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, on April 15.
