'Helped me enhance my batting’: Ayush Badoni credits camp in Australia for batting heroics against Delhi Capitals

Ayush Badoni played a good knock in match against Delhi Capitals but it was not enough to lead Lucknow Super Giants to a stunning win in IPL 2024.

Lucknow Super Giants faced a humbling 6-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, on April 12. This was their second loss in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. However, despite the big loss, young Ayush Badoni's unbeaten half-century was a bright side. His 55-run knock off 35 balls helped LSG post a fighting total of 167 runs. After the match, Badoni praised the head coach Justin Langer for improvement in his batting and revealed about the camp organized in Australia.

 

LSG were batting first and at one stage they were reeling at 94/7 in 12.6 overs. However, Ayush Badoni took charge and played a sensational knock. He helped his team post a competitive total of 167 runs. Arshad Khan batted well and contributed by scoring 20 off 16 balls. Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan made a crucial partnership of 73 runs for the eighth wicket. Although, DC managed to chase down the total in just 18.1 overs and won the match by six wickets.

Ayush Badoni on Justin Langer

 

The 24-year-old batter from Delhi revealed the camp organized by LSG in September 2023 and mentioned his bond with the Australian legend while speaking in the post-match press conference.

 

"I also share a good bond with Justin Langer. I also went to Australia last year, where Justin taught me many things and helped me improve my game," said Ayush Badoni.

Badoni also talked about how he was in Australia with Justin Langer for a few days which really helped him in improving his batting.

 

"I went to Australia in September where we had training with Justin Langer sponsored by Lucknow Super Giants. I was with Justin for about one week to 10 days there. He helped me enhance by batting. That helped me a great deal," Badoni added.

 

Badoni on KL Rahul

 

Ayush Badoni also praised the LSG captain KL Rahul for motivating him ahead of this season. Before the start of this season, Ayush Badoni was playing for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy and had a good outing with the bat as he scored 333 runs from six matches with a century and a half-century.

 

"I have many conversations with KL Rahul. He always backs me. He tells me that 'You are the best player and you can finish games well," said Badoni
