Virat Kohli cracked another half century in the ongoing IPL season.

With this knock, Virat Kohli continued to reign supreme in Orange Cap race.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) batting juggernaut Virat Kohli hit his third half-century of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), maintaining his lead in the Orange Cap standings. Meanwhile, Travis Head, following two consecutive half-centuries, experienced an unusual setback, scoring only one run against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is currently second with 349 runs, while Rishabh Pant's rapid 88 off 43 balls against Gujarat Titans elevated him to third place on the list.

Let's have a look at the list of batters who are in Orange Cap contention:

  1. 1. Virat Kohli (RCB): The run machine keeps rolling! Kohli remains at the top of the run-scoring charts (Orange Cap) with over 400 runs, becoming the first player to achieve this feat in IPL 2024.  While his scoring pace slowed after the powerplay against SRH, his contribution proved crucial in their victory.

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK): CSK captain Gaikwad has reclaimed his spot among the top scorers. His magnificent century against Lucknow Super Giants, though in a losing effort, sends a positive message for the team.  They'll be happy to see their skipper in top form despite the added pressure of leadership.

3. Rishabh Pant (DC): Since his return to competitive cricket, DC captain Pant continues to impress. His recent blistering knock of 88 runs off just 43 balls against Gujarat Titans showcases his power and propels him to third place in the run-scoring charts.

4. Sai Sudarshan (KKR): The talented left-hander, Sudarshan, continues to make a case for national selection with his consistent performances. Whether opening the innings or batting at number three, he remains unfazed. His latest knock of 65 runs off 39 balls against DC underlines his ability to perform on the big stage.

5. Travis Head (SRH): Head's dismissal against RCB was likely an off-day, as they exploited his known weakness against spin. He fell early, scoring just one run. However, as the fifth-highest run-scorer in IPL 2024, he'll be looking to make a strong comeback in upcoming matches.
