Virat Kohli gifts his bat to Rinku Singh after unbeaten 83-run knock against KKR, heart-warming gesture goes viral

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli gifted his bat to Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) star finisher Rinku Singh after the clash between the two teams at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In the clash, RCB faced a humbling defeat against Shreyas Iyer-led KKR at their home ground by seven wickets on March 29. KKR continued their dominance at RCB’s home ground as they registered their sixth consecutive triumph at the stadium.

 

After the match, KKR uploaded a delightful post on his social media account ‘X’ and wrote a caption: ‘The bond we love to see!’. The post featured Kohli and Rinku, in which the latter received a special bat from Indian batting maestro. They also shared a warm hug later.

Rinku Expresses Gratitude

 

After receiving the bat, Rinku took to Instagram and shared a story of KKR. He also expressed gratitude for the special gift. He wrote to Kohli, “thank you for the advice bhaiya and also for the bat”.

 

The Bengaluru franchise also uploaded a video after the match which featured the RCB and KKR players interacting with each other.  

 

"One of the great things about this game are, we are constantly challenged. And no matter how experienced or inexperienced we are, we always have to find solutions," says Coach Andy after our tough night against KKR.

Kohli carried his bat with 84 runs from 59 balls including four fours and as many sixes helping RCB post 182/6. KKR chased down the target with seven wickets in hand and 19 balls to spare.

 

Meanwhile, the 2023 IPL season marked a breakthrough for Rinku. He contributed 474 runs in 14 matches with an impressive average of 59.25 and a strike rate of nearly 150. It earned him a place in the Indian side as well. 

 

With their second consecutive win of the season, KKR leapfrogged to the second position in the points table with four points.
