South African batter David Miller has said that Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Jasprit Bumrah's recent exceptional bowling performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) make him a significant threat to all batters in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies in June.
In the race for the Purple Cap in IPL 2024, Bumrah seized the top spot with 20 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 16.80 and an economy rate of 6.48 so far. However, defending champions MI became the first team to get eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs and are currently languishing at the ninth spot on the points table. Since his debut in January 2016, Bumrah has become India's premier pace option in all formats, with 74 wickets in 62 T20I matches.
Bumrah is a threat to me: David Miller
With the 2024 T20 World Cup looming ahead, Miller, who is currently playing for Gujarat Titans (GT), predicts an exhilarating showdown against Bumrah, whom he regards as a ‘world-class bowler’.
"There are so many good Indian players. But me being a batter facing the bowlers, I think Bumrah is bowling well at the moment. And he has been a world-class bowler for many years. He's a threat to me, as well as every other batter in the World Cup," Miller said while speaking to PTI.

'I feel like I've done well at World Cups'
Talking about the T20 World Cup, Miller said that the side has a lot of confidence and skills to lift the trophy this time. He also pointed out his own performances in the ICC events.
"This team that we have at the moment has played a lot of cricket together the last couple of years and has a lot of confidence and a lot of success. We've got a lot of experience, guys that have been under pressure before and come through successfully. So, putting all the individuals together in a T20 World Cup, I have no doubt that we most certainly going to give it our best shot. We have the players to do it, the skill to do it,” Miller added
"I love World Cups, I must be honest. I feel like I've done well at World Cups, personally. And I just want to continue the momentum. For you to say, finally, Killer Miller coming to life, I think I've done pretty well at previous World Cups," Miller concluded.
MI will take on KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
