Rajasthan Royals (RR) youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal was on fire on April 22 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The left-handed batter hammered 104 runs off 60 balls and led RR to a comprehensive nine-wicket win at home. This was Jaiswal’s second century in the IPL and, notably, his first was against MI as well.

It was Sanju Samson-led RR's seventh win of the season and they hold the top spot in the IPL 2024 standing with 14 points.

After Jaiswal's unbeaten innings, Rohit Sharma hugged him and after the completion of the game, Jaiswal was seen telling him that ‘winning the match is important for me, that’s it.' This statement of young opening batter is now trending on social media.

Meanwhile, Trent Boult claimed two wickets. After winning the toss, MI decided to bat first and could score only 179 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. In response, RR chased down the target comfortably and won the match by nine wickets by scoring 183 runs for a wicket in 18.4 overs.

"It's incredible and I am enjoying it. Initially, it was tough for me but that's how cricket is. I guess you have to go through ups and downs and learn. I want to thank all my seniors Virat bhaiya and Rohit bhaiya and especially Sanga sir and Sanju bhai, the way they have been talking to me. It's incredible to go through these phases and still enjoy the game," Jaiswal said in an interview with the IPL website.
