Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir opened up on his next target after his franchise won the third Indian Premier League (IPL) title. He said that KKR are just two trophies away from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) to equal their record of most tournament titles and now he his next mission is to make KKR the best-ever team of the tournament by helping the franchise to lift three more titles.
Intrestingly, Gambhir was involved in all the IPL victories of Kolkata based franchise. Previously under his captaincy, KKR clinched titles in 2012 and 2014 and now he was the mentor of the franchise.
Gautam Gambhir on his next target
“If you ask me, we are still two trophies away from Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Yes, I’m happy and confident today. But again, the hunger is still there, and we are yet to become the most successful franchise in IPL. To become that, we have to win the trophy three more times. You have to work really hard to win it thrice. So, the next mission is – if we can make KKR the best-ever team – there is no better feeling than that,” Gambhir told sportskeeda.
In the final of IPL 2024, KKR beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26. After asked to bowl first, KKR bundled out SRH for 113 and chased that target in 10.3 overs.

Gautam Gambhir's plan after IPL 2024
For me, what’s next is the vacation with my girls and my wife. I am looking forward to it. You get rejuvenated with such breaks, as you don’t have to think about cricket at all."There is nothing better than spending time with family. After playing such a high-intensity tournament and winning it, there can be no better feeling" Gambhir concluded.
