One of the most fierce rivalries in franchise cricket will re-ignite on April 2 (Sunday) when Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will lock horns against five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions. The Men in Red will look to keep their recent dominance over the Men in Blue intact when the two teams step out to cross swords in what is billed to be a high-octane clash.

Having recorded three consecutive wins against Mumbai Indians in their last five meetings since IPL 2020, the RCB, who are once again in search of their maiden title win in the league, would want to make a winning start in front of their loyal fans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Having said that, the task would be a tall one for RCB as MI would be hungry to bury the demons of last year when they finished last in the standings.

The thing which makes RCB vs MI an attractive match-up for fans is the presence of some of the biggest superstars in the sport. RCB have their skipper Faf du Plessis, poster boy Virat Kohli and global superstar Glenn Maxwell in their ranks, all of whom are box-office attraction.

MI, on the flip side, have talisman Rohit Sharma, T20 phenomenon Suryakumar Yadav and express pacer Jofra Archer in their ranks, Again, these are just a few names, there are plenty more players who enjoy their separate fan base.

But when it comes to the biggest reason behind RCB vs MI being a rivalry then it has to be the prospect of watching Kohli and Rohit crossing swords against each other. So, let's take a look at how the two players have performed while playing against each other's team.

Kohli has scored 827 runs against MI at an average of 29.53 and a strike of 126.25. The charismatic batter has registered seven half-centuries against the Men in Blue. Meanwhile, Rohit has aggregated 785 runs at a strike rate of 138.20 and an average of 29.0. He has also registered seven half-centuries against the Men in Red.

Both Kohli and Rohit have an identical record when it comes to playing against each other's team. Who will be the 'King' when the two teams meet once again on Sunday?
