On May 9, Suryakumar Yadav's Indian Premier League (IPL) career-best 83-run knock helped Mumbai Indians (MI) chase down a target of 200 with ease against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). While there was no controversy on the field, Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) Afghan recruit Naveen-ul-Haq shared photos of mangoes while watching the match, similar to what Virat Kohli did when Gujarat Titans (GT) thrashed LSG. A day after Naveen’s Instagram stories went viral, Kohli shared a reel of American comedian and actor Kevin Hart's popular quote.

“No matter who much emotion and feeling you may have or how much hurt you have have, life has to go on. Life doesn't stop for anybody. So if you don't process that and understand that, you're stuck in whatever time period you got hurt forever. So grudes and anger and negativity, I don't have time for it. Because I'm living to do so much positive things. I can't stand in the past and bathe in what was wrong,” Hart says in the video.

Kohli and Naveen were involved in an ugly spat during the RCB vs LSG clash earlier this month. Kohli was seen showing his shoe to Naveen as he took out the grass from the spikes which went viral on the internet. After the match, the two had a heated exchange during customary handshake. Later, it led to an argument with Kohli and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir.

Both Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100 per cent of his match fee by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for committing Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct. On the other hand, Naveen was fined 50 per cent of his match fees for Level  1 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

At Wankhede Stadium, Kohli did not fire with the bat and got out caught behind in the first over itself to left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff. After the massive, loss, RCB are placed seventh on the points table with five wins from 11 games and a negative net run rate (NRR). LSG have just one more point from same number of games as the clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was washed out due to rain. They are placed fourth on the points table.
