Delhi Capitals (DC) registered an emphatic win against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 17 (Wednesday) at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. David Warner's men registered a 15-run win and almost brought an end to Punjab's hopes of reaching the playoffs. The Delhi-based franchise's victory was powered by a strong batting performance. All four batters who got a chance to display their skills batted superbly and helped the team post a mammoth total of 213/2.

After winning the game, Warner reflected on his team's performance and lauded the intent displayed by the batters. The Australian batter also hit out at inconsistent pitches at Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi which has posed a great challenge for DC batters.

"Great win of course but I really liked the intent today after losing the toss. I also think playing on a nice wicket helps a lot. We had pretty slow and inconsistent wickets back at home. It's been pretty challenging there," Warner said after the game.

Prithvi Shaw returned to Delhi's line-up after a long hiatus. Opening the batting alongside his skipper, Shaw displayed shades of his old best and smashed a half-century. The stylish right-handed batter scored 54 runs off 38 balls with the help of seven fours and one six.

Rilee Rossouw was the star for DC with the bat. The hard-hitting South African batter pulverised Punjab bowlers and put on an absolute masterclass of stroke-making. In his innings of 82 not out off 37 balls, Rossouw whacked six fours and clobbered as many sixes.

DC skipper Warner praised both Shaw and Rossouw for making a thunderous impact with the bat in hand.

"Great to see the impact Shaw had today and the impact Rossouw had as well. We haven't been able to track down what's the best total at our home venue. There are little bits of our game that haven't gone to play but great to get some points today," Warner added.
