The 48th match of the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was a masterclass in bowling by the Gujarat Titans (GT), who beat the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 9 wickets in what turned out to be a one-sided match. Rajasthan's batting flopped on their home ground, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as their team were reduced to 118 runs in the first innings. And to save the innings,  Riyan Parag was brought on as an impact player.

But once again, he failed and went on to score four runs in 6 balls. After this, the fans again trolled Parag on social media and started calling him the worst player in IPL history. While Parag has played in the IPL for the last 5 years, so far he has made one run for every Rs 1, 41, 000 that RR have spent since he joined them 5 years back.

Talking about Riyan Parag, he entered the league in IPL 2019 and made a name for himself with a batting average of 32. But since then, Parag could score runs only once in the 2022 IPL season at an average of 16, half of 32. While his bat has been silent for five years and during this time he has not been able to prove himself on the basis of the total amount received from Rajasthan.

In IPL 2019, he scored 160 runs at an average of 32. After this, in IPL 2020, he scored 86 runs at an average of 12. In IPL 2021, he scored 93 runs at an average of 11 and in IPL 2022, he scored 183 runs at an average of 16 with his bat. In the current season, Parag has so far been able to score only 58 runs in 6 matches at a poor average of 13. Including 5 seasons, Parag has so far been able to score only 580 runs in 53 matches in the IPL, in addition to the four wickets in his name.

On the other hand, if we talk about the amount that Parag gets, then from the year 2019 to the year 2021, Parag earned Rs 20 lakh per year. That is, in three years, he has Rs 60 lakhs. In the IPL 2022 mega-auction, Parag was bought by Rajasthan for a hefty amount of 3.80 crores.

That is, if we talk about IPL 2022 and 2023 together, then he has received a total of Rs 7.6 crores from RR. And considering the fact that he has managed to score only 580 runs in this period, he is batting at the rate of Rs 1,41,000 per run in the last five years. This is the reason that the fans have begun laying it into him,  so much so that he had to put out a tweet that read, 'Waqt acha ho ya bura Guzar he jata hai! (The good times and the bad, both pass!).
