Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Yash Dayal claimed that the controversial post that was put on his Instagram account was not put by him and that his official Instagram handle was hacked on Monday. He has since deleted the story and issued an apology, both of which have gone viral.

The post could be construed as anti-Islamic in nature, and a statement from the Gujarat Titans PR team have claimed that he has filed a complaint with Instagram authorities that his official handle has been compromised.

"There were two stories posted on my Insta handle today -- both of which weren't done by me. I have reported the matter to authorities as I believe my account is being accessed by someone else and used for posting. I am trying to regain full control of my Instagram account. I respect all communities and the picture shared today does not reveal my true beliefs," the statement shared with the media said.

The bowler from Uttar Pradesh is infamous after being hit for five consecutive sixes during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match by Kolkata Knight Riders player Rinku Singh.

Dayal, who plays Ranji Trophy for Uttar Pradesh, also played for India A in 2022.

The 26-year-old has been playing since 2018 when he made his senior debut for Uttar Pradesh. Since being hit by Rinku, he was benched for over a month but played two more games as Titans made the tournament final, losing to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets. Dayal only managed two wickets in five matches at an economy rate of 11.78.

Bought by Titans before IPL 2022, Dayal played nine games in the team's run to the title in what was their debut season, picking up 11 wickets and maintaining an economy rate of 9.25.
