Rohit Sharma is currently in Bengaluru leading team India in the ongoing first Test match against New Zealand which is taking place in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Rohit just scored 2 runs in the first innings where Men in Blue bundled out on just 46 runs.
After bowling out New Zealand on 402 runs, India's captain scored 52 runs in the second innings and at this point, India are on 344 runs where Sarfaraz (125, 154b) and Rishabh Pant (53, 56b) were at the crease when rain played spoilsport and an early lunch was taken due to covers at Chinnaswamy. The duo made a partnership of 113 runs for the fourth wicket in just 22 overs.

There are rumours that Rohit will leave his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) before the upcoming mega auction. However, the franchise has not yet confirmed anything about that.
Rohit is one of the most successful captains in the history of cash-rich league as MI won five IPL titles under his leadership which is joint most by any team. MI won its last IPL title in 2020 during Covid-19 and since then the franchise failed to perform in the marquee event. On the other hand, RCB who holds the massive fanbase because of cricketers like Virat Kohli are yet to win an IPL title.
