Kohli was the Player of the Series against Sri Lanka with two massive centuries and even on Wednesday, he started the innings well with a solid cover drive boundary.

Meanwhile, after Kohli's departure, Gill was seen all guns blazing as he went on to belt a cracking double century to help India post a huge total of 349/8.

Gill, who clobbered 208 off 149 riding on nineteen fours and nine maximums. Gill, 23, also became the youngest batter to hit a double ton in ODIs. He has become the fifth Indian after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan to clock an ODI double hundred.

Ishan Kishan, 24, on December 10, 2022, had become the youngest ODI double centurion but the record stood for only one month and 8 days as Gill aged 23 years and 132 days, stormed to a sensational double hundred on a pitch where stroke-making was not easy. Rohit Sharma, the only player to hit 3 ODI double hundreds, looked good before he was dismissed for 34 off 38.
