This will be Men in Green's first series after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reinstated Babar as the white-ball captain in place of Shaheen Afridi. The series will also be special as it marks the return of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim. Both players will be returning after ending their retirement decision.

The Men in Green will be using this series as their preparation for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024. The Black Caps are competing in this series with their second-string team as their senior players are busy playing the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
