Uncapped spinners Shreyas Gopal and Shikhar Shetty put up a brilliant show as Karnataka registered a dominating innings and 185 runs win against Chandigarh on the third day of their Ranji Trophy 2025-25 Elite Group B match at D.R. Bendre Cricket Stadium in Hubli.
Chandigarh failed to get a good start
Chandigarh started their day at 72 for four in their first innings but were bowled out for 222, despite skipper Manan Vohra scoring an unbeaten 106. Leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal (7/73) was the star in rattling Chandigarh’s batting, with Shetty (2/43) providing good support.

In the second innings, while facing a 325-run first innings deficit, Chandigarh struggled again and were bowled out for 140. Shetty (5/61) led Karnataka’s attack, with Shreyas taking 3/45. Shetty bowled 11.5 overs in one spell to take five wickets, after giving away just 14 runs in his earlier over.
Shreyas Gopal gets 10-wicket haul
Shreyas finished with a match haul of 10 wickets for 118 runs, helping Karnataka secure seven points, including a bonus point for the innings win. With this win, Karnataka are at the top of the points table with two wins in five outings in the Elite B Group.

Karnataka's upcoming outing
Karnataka will now face Madhya Pradesh in their upcoming Ranji Trophy clash, which will start from January 22 at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
