Maharashtra's reply was robust, led by an unbeaten 80 by Ruturaj Gaikwad, but they are still behind by 173 runs in their Group A Ranji Trophy encounter against Mumbai. Day 2 ended with Maharashtra reaching 142 for 1, having put Gaikwad and Sachin Dhas (59*, 7 fours, 1 six) at the crease for their second innings.

The reigning champions Mumbai had earlier bundled out Maharashtra for a meager 126 runs, taking a commanding 315-run lead after scoring 441 in their opening innings. With just three first-class matches under their belt, 17-year-old opener Ayush Mhatre led Mumbai, who resumed their innings at 220 for 3. Despite being dismissed for just seven runs, India T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav made the most of his opportunity, hitting 142 from 190 balls, including four sixes and twelve fours.

Services were behind Baroda by 403 runs at the Air Force Ground in Palam, reaching 74 for 2 in response to the latter's declared 477 for 6. With Shivalik Sharma (120*) maintaining his excellent form, Baroda began their first innings at 249 for 3, scoring 178 from 394 balls (10 fours, 2 sixes). While captain Krunal Pandya made a quick 86 off 117 balls (8 fours, 2 sixes), Vishnu Solanki added 125 from 297 balls (10 fours). Contributing quickly, Atit Sheth made 53* off 50 balls (8 fours).

Tripura made a tremendous comeback from early losses in a rain-affected encounter to reach 346 for 6 at stumps on Day 2. The innings' standout player was Sridam Paul, who scored 146 off 178 balls (20 fours, 2 sixes). Mura Singh (53*), S Sharath (54*), and captain Mandeep Singh (59) provided him with strong support. Odisha's hopes were preserved at Cuttack by Govinda Poddar's unbeaten 87 as the team finished the day at 198 for 5, still behind Jammu & Kashmir by 72 runs in the first innings.
