Umesh Yadav bowled a match-winning spell in his second match in ongoing Royal London One-Day Cup 2022 for Middlesex. Umesh registered his maiden fifer for Middlesex to prevent them from posting a big total on a batting friendly pitch.

Umesh started off with a wicket in the first over. He bowled an in-swinger which went through the big gap between opener Graham Clark's bat and pads. In his next over, he got rid of Durham skipper Scott Borthwick.

After conceding just 19 runs in his first spell including two wickets, Umesh was brought back into the attack in the 29th over. The pacer delivered right away with the wicket of new batter Liam Trevaskis. He bowled a two-over spell as the skipper wanted him to bowl in slog overs.

Towards the end of the innings, Umesh mopped up the tail. Oliver Gibson and Chris Rushworth could not handle Umesh's pace as Durham got all out with four balls to spare. Michael Jones top-scored for Durham with a 119-run knock to help his side post 268. Apart from Umesh, Luke Hollman registered a four-wicket haul.

Middlesex chased down the target of 269 in the 42nd over. Skipper Eskinazi remained unbeaten for 146. Opener Mark Stomenan scored a 60-ball 62 whereas Sam Robson remained unbeaten for 59-ball 55.

This is Umesh's most impressive bowling display for Middlesex across formats. In the previous game, he picked up one wicket and conceded 60 runs against Leicestershire.

With a sensational bowling display, Umesh is also banging on selectors' doors. While he has been in mix in India's Test side, he has not played an ODI since October 2018. Umesh has not been in scheme of things in the ODI format. He is not even a part of India’s second string squad for Zimbabwe tour which will begin on August 18.

Umesh will have more chances to prove himself with the white-ball. He will be in action of August 10 when Middlesex take on Surrey.
