The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will shift star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant from Dehradun to Mumbai, Sports Tak has learned. The 25-year-old, who is currently admitted to a private hospital in Dehradun, will be airlifted to Mumbai on January 04 (Wednesday) evening. The major reason behind shifting Pant to Mumbai is to provide the best possible treatment for the ligament injury he sustained during the horrific car crash on December 30, 2022.
Pant was involved in a devastating accident when his car hit a divider while he was traveling from Delhi to Roorkee. According to a statement released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Pant sustained several injuries in the accident.
"Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment," BCCI had said in a release on Friday.
On January 02 (Monday), the Indian cricketer was shifted from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a private room over 'fear of infection'.
