T20 World Cup 2026 final will take place between India and New Zealand.

Former India cricketer and former batting coach Sanjay Bangar has heaped massive praise on Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the “Don Bradman of bowling.” Bangar said Bumrah reminds him of the legendary Don Bradman because of the incredible consistency he brings every time he bowls, no matter the format or match situation.

Bangar made the remark ahead of the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup between India and New Zealand national cricket team, which is set to take place in Ahmedabad. Bumrah has been one of India’s key performers in the tournament. In the semifinal against the England cricket team, he produced a brilliant spell, picking up two wickets at a crucial stage.

England were well placed while chasing a target of 254, but Bumrah shifted the momentum of the game with his calm and precise bowling. In his final two overs, he gave away just 14 runs and broke the momentum of the chase, helping India secure a narrow seven-run victory.

Bangar on Bumrah's performance

Speaking on JioStar’s show ‘Follow The Blues’, Bangar said Bumrah’s impact on a game is unmatched. According to him, the fast bowler performs in every format he plays and rarely fails to deliver. Bangar also praised Bumrah’s control and the way he uses his pace to trouble batters.

“Jasprit Bumrah is the Don Bradman of bowling," Bangar said on JioStar’s ‘Follow The Blues’. “There is no doubt about that. He leaves an impact that cannot be matched by any other bowler. Not just in T20Is, in any format he plays, he delivers without fail. The control he has and his ability to deceive batters with pace is incredible. He uses his brain in a terrific manner. He knows exactly how to execute those perfect yorkers. Out of six balls, four are perfect yorkers, landing in the right spot and not turning into full tosses. That is a quality Bumrah has achieved with a lot of hard work. But I think the way he uses his brain and out-thinks the batsmen, not just with yorkers but with swinging balls and slower ones, he leaves an impact on the game wherever and whenever he bowls."

He explained that Bumrah’s yorkers are among the best in the world. Out of six balls, four often land exactly where he wants them, right at the base of the stumps, without turning into full tosses. Bangar said this kind of precision comes from years of hard work and practice.

He also highlighted Bumrah’s cricketing intelligence. Apart from yorkers, the pacer mixes up his deliveries smartly with swing and slower balls, often outthinking the batter. Because of that, he tends to leave a mark on the match whenever he comes on to bowl.

Bumrah had also played a crucial role in India’s triumph in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final against South Africa. In that game, he helped India defend 30 runs in the last five overs. The team will now hope he can produce another match-winning performance against New Zealand and guide India to their third T20 World Cup title
