Kuldeep Yadav is likely to feature in India’s fourth Group A match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 against the Netherlands on February 18 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The left-arm spinner is on the verge of achieving a major milestone in T20 internationals.
Kuldeep is on the verge of surpassing Yuzvendra Chahal
Kuldeep currently has 95 wickets from 54 T20I matches. He needs just two more wickets to go past Yuzvendra Chahal and become India’s highest wicket-taking spinner in T20Is. Chahal has taken 96 wickets in 80 matches so far.

Kuldeep five-wicket shy of reaching this milestone
There is another big milestone within reach for Kuldeep. If he takes five wickets against the Netherlands, he will complete 100 wickets in T20Is. He would then become the first Indian spinner and only the fourth Indian bowler overall, after Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, to reach 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game.

| Arshdeep Singh | 78 | 121 | 5/51 |

| Yuzvendra Chahal | 80 | 96 | 6/25 |
| Kuldeep Yadav | 54 | 95 | 5/17 |
If he manages to claim five wickets in the upcoming match, Kuldeep could also become the third fastest bowler in the world to reach 100 T20I wickets. The record for the fastest to 100 wickets is held by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who achieved the mark in his 53rd match. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane follows him, reaching the milestone in 54 matches.
