India spinner Kuldeep Yadav had played three matches out of five in the team's recent T20I series against New Zealand and has been picked in the squad for the T20 World Cup as well. However, it is not guaranteed that he will get regular game-time for the tournament as the Men in Blue have picked multiple other spin options in their squad including Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar present in the squad.
India yet to decide bowling combination
When asked about who will the team pick between Kuldeep and Chakravarthy for the clash against USA, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav remarked that they are yet to take a call on the bowling combination for the match. With two quality spin bowlers in their arsenal, the skipper feels that the team can opt any one of them depending on the conditions they will play in.
"Added advantage to have Kuldeep and Varun, but we need to see the combinations against which we can play which bowlers. It’s a good headache to have with two quality bowlers," Suryakumar said in the pre-match press-conference.

Meanwhile, when asked about playing underdogs like USA, Suryakumar said that the team cannot afford to be complacent and will have to play well on the given day in order to ensure that they win the match.
"You have to be in the present. You have to play well and see what you do on the given day. Have your feet on the ground because at times you want to give fans more than what they expect. So you have to keep calm," Suryakumar stated.
