Henil Patel's fifer bowls out USA to 107
Earlier in the day, India's Henil Patel had completely dismantled the American batting lineup. Exploiting overcast conditions after India won the toss and elected to bowl, Patel produced a masterclass in pace bowling, finishing with remarkable figures of 5/16 from his seven overs.
Patel’s five-wicket haul, the first of the tournament, saw him rip through the USA middle order and clean up the tail, bowling them out for a modest total of 107 in 35.2 overs. Despite the low target, Appidi's aggressive opening spell ensured that India's chase would not be a simple walkover. However, shortly after Sooryavanshi's dismissal, play was interrupted by lightning and rain with India at 21/1, leaving the match poised in a tense waiting game.

Nitish Sudini provided the only significant resistance for the USA, playing a gritty, counter-attacking knock of 36 off 52 balls. Alongside Adnit Jhamb, who contributed 18, Sudini helped steer the total past the 50-run mark with a 30-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Their efforts offered a brief reprieve before the Indian bowlers reasserted their control over the middle and lower order.
Henil Patel eventually returned to the attack to clinical effect, cleaning up the tail by dismissing Sabrish Prasad and Rishabh Shimpi. His final wickets secured a brilliant five-wicket haul and bundled out the USA for just 107 runs.
