The incident transpired after Matthew Forde was run out.

West Indies cricketers Matthew Forde and Roston Chase indulged in an intense verbal fight during the 3rd ODI against Australia on February 6. The incident that instantly went viral across social media platforms showcased Forde and Chase going back and forth at each other after a bad mix-up during running between the wickets which led to Forde's dismissal. The incident transpired during the third ball of the 21st over in West Indies' innings when Forde pulled a short delivery towards the right of mid-on and called Chase for a quick single.

Chase ignored his partner's call and was caught ball-watching, only to realise that Forde had sprinted and almost reached the non-striker's end. Upon being sent back by Chase, Forde tried to quickly turn but slipped and fell on the pitch. Substitute fielder Mackenzie Harvey did a fantastic job by diving to his right and stopping the ball. He then released a throw towards the striker's end and Forde was run out by a mile.

Upon being dismissed, Forde was furious at his partner and gave a mouthful to Chase, who responded animatedly as well. The two West Indies batters kept going at each other even when Forde set off for the pavilion.
