She even had a heated altercation with Sophie Ecclestone.

Mumbai Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was fined 10% of her match fee for violating the Code of Conduct during Thursday's Women's Premier League victory over UP Warriorz. She acknowledged committing the Level 1 offense of expressing disagreement with an umpire's call. In the past, the 35-year-old has been known to lose her temper on the pitch. She was given a two-match ban in July 2023 for her outburst at an umpiring decision during a match against Bangladesh in Dhaka. After being dismissed, she broke the stumps with her bat and described the umpiring standards as "pathetic" in the post-match presentation.

"Harmanpreet Kaur, Captain, Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded and fined 10 per cent of her match fees for breaching the WPL Code of Conduct during their team’s match against UP Warriorz at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.8 which relates to showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding," stated WPL in their media release.

Harmanpreet Kaur's heated altercation with Sophie Ecclestone

Umpire Ajitesh Argal told Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur that only three fielders could be outside the circle in the final over because of slow over rate at the end of the 19th over of the UP Warriorz innings. She appeared dissatisfied with the decision and got into a brief disagreement with the umpire, with teammate Amelia Kerr jumping in. Sophie Ecclestone of UP Warriorz and Harmanpreet also got into a heated argument during the moment when the English cricket player, who was at the non-striker's end, approached the umpire to clarify something.

"I was just trying to defuse the situation between Harman and Sophie. It got a little bit heated out there. Both are very passionate and competitive. I’m a bit more laidback. I was just trying to calm the situation," Kerr said at the post-match press confernce.

Sophie is a bit of an angry aunt anyway. It was quite funny to watch. But MI was seven minutes behind the over rate. So, I’m not really sure why Harman was mad at that," said Warriorz’s Georgia Voll.
