The League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) 2025 marks the beginning of a thrilling new chapter in the esports scene across Asia-Pacific. This inaugural event, starting on January 17, 2025, will set the stage for the best regional teams to compete for a chance to participate in global tournaments, with the LCP serving as the exclusive qualifying pathway for the region's top talent.
Participating Teams
The first season of LCP will feature eight teams from across the Asia-Pacific region, comprising both partner organizations and guest participants. The teams set to compete are:

- Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming (Partner)
- GAM Esports (Partner)
- Talon (Partner)
- DetonatioN FocusMe (Guest)
- MGN Vikings Esports (Guest)
- Team Secret Whales (Guest)
- The Chiefs Esports Club (Guest)
Tournament Structure
The competition will be structured around two key phases: the Regular Season and the Playoffs. The Regular Season is further divided into two stages, each contributing to the overall progression of the tournament.
Stage 1: Group Stage
In the first stage, the teams will be ranked based on their performance and placed into two distinct groups: Contender and Breakout. The top four teams will enter the Contender group, while the remaining teams will fall into the Breakout group. Each group will then compete in a round-robin format, with all matches played in a best-of-three series. This phase will determine the initial standing of each team and set the stage for the next round.
Stage 2: Group Seeding Bracket
Following the group stage, a reshuffling will occur to ensure balanced competition. The 4th place team from the Contender group will play the 1st place team from the Breakout group, while the 3rd placed team from Contender will face the 2nd placed team from Breakout in another best-of-three match. The winners of these matchups will move to the Contender group, while the losing teams will join the Breakout group.
Both groups will then continue with a double-elimination format, where only those teams that have won two matches in the Breakout group will advance to the next round. The Contender group will see all teams progressing to the Season Finals.
Playoffs
The final playoff phase will feature the six remaining teams competing in a double-elimination bracket. The matches will alternate between best-of-three and best-of-five formats, culminating in a showdown for the inaugural LCP championship title. The winner of the tournament will not only take home the title but will also secure a spot in global events, marking the tournament’s prestige on the international stage.
Kickoff Schedule
The 2025 LCP Season Kickoff will run from January 17 to February 23, 2025, with the first week of matches crucial for determining which teams will qualify for First Stand, the first major global event of the year.
