The World Champions Cup, which features players from the PGA Tour Champions, made its debut last year at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. However, the event is now delayed until 2025 due to the impact of hurricanes Helene and Milton on the Florida Gulf Coast and other parts of the United States.
"Our goal with the World Champions Cup is to provide a first-class experience for all our partners and fans. We are pleased that the Bradenton area sustained minimal damage, but given the timing of the tournament in relation to the recent storms, we believe that focusing our efforts on the future is in the best interests of everyone involved," stated the PGA Tour Champions, The Concession Golf Club, Manatee County, and Intersport in a joint announcement.
The inaugural event last year reignited long-standing rivalries among some of the world’s top golfers, delivering excitement and entertainment to golf enthusiasts. "We are excited to welcome back our fans and continue to build the event’s legacy in 2025," the statement added.

The World Champions Cup started in 2023 as a three-day competition featuring three teams: Team USA, Team Europe, and Team International. Earlier this year, the event secured a multi-year extension to return to The Concession in 2024, 2025, and 2028, with host courses for the 2026 and 2027 tournaments to be announced later.
The World Champions Cup was scheduled for Dec. 5-8, 2024. Team USA won the inaugural competition.
Key Features
Teams: The tournament includes three teams: Team USA, Team Europe, and Team International. Each team consists of six players, including the captains.

Scoring System
Each hole offers a total of three points:
The team with the best score on the hole earns two points.
The second-best score receives one point.
The team with the highest score gets no points.
Ties are resolved by sharing points among the teams.
Match Formats
Scotch Sixsome: In this format, each player tees off, and then teams alternate strokes using one ball to complete the hole.
Six Ball: Each player plays their own ball, and the lowest score from each team counts toward the total for that hole.
Singles Matches: Players compete head-to-head in individual matches, adding another layer of competition.
