During the historic debut episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix, wrestling icon Hulk Hogan was met with a surprising and resounding chorus of boos from the Los Angeles audience. The moment quickly became a hot topic, sparking widespread debate across the wrestling community. Fans and analysts alike speculated on the reasons behind the negative reception, with opinions ranging from Hogan's past controversies to his more recent political affiliations.

Seth Rollins Shares His Thoughts on Hogan’s Reception

Despite the incident being in the past, Seth Rollins was recently asked about the situation during an interview with WFAN. Addressing the subject, Rollins reflected on his personal experiences with Hogan while acknowledging the complex nature of the reaction.

"I was a Hogan fan growing up," Rollins stated. "I've said a million times, the dude has been nothing but kind to me in my life, in our interactions; doesn't make him a good person, I mean, obviously! He's run into some issues as of late, we'll see if he clears those up; that's his business though."

Rollins then touched on the audience’s reaction that night, admitting he wasn't caught off guard by the response. "I was not surprised," Rollins noted. "I mean, look, he hasn't done a lot to, like, kinda harbor goodwill in his name over the past few years, and so, I just think — with everything going on — him, you know, he came out – I saw it coming."

Differing Opinions on the Cause of the Boos

While Rollins and many others believe that Hogan's past controversies have significantly impacted his reputation in certain wrestling circles, others hold a different view. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle provided an alternative perspective, attributing the reaction to Hogan’s recent political stance.

During an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling Binge, Angle acknowledged Hogan’s legacy and the impact he has had on the wrestling industry. "The Wrestling Machine" described Hogan as possibly the most popular wrestler of all time and an "incredible human being," but he suggested that the current divisiveness in American politics played a role in the reaction he received.

 The Debate Continues

Hogan's reception at Monday Night RAW’s Netflix premiere remains a widely discussed topic, with fans and insiders continuing to debate the factors behind the unexpected reaction. Whether it was his past controversies, his political views, or a combination of both, one thing is certain—Hogan's name still sparks strong emotions in the world of professional wrestling.
