Seth Rollins has endured a brutal week — both inside and outside the ring — that could significantly alter WWE's blueprint for SummerSlam 2025. The former world champion, known as The Visionary, was struck by misfortune when his California home — shared with wife and fellow WWE superstar Becky Lynch — was burglarized last Monday night.
According to reports, approximately $10,000 in cash was stolen, and local authorities are currently investigating the incident. No suspects have been apprehended as of now. The break-in occurred shortly after Rollins appeared on the traditional episode of WWE Raw.
Injury disrupts WWE booking as plans for Gunther feud stall
The troubles didn’t end there for Rollins. Just days after the robbery, he took part in Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, where he competed against LA Knight. During that match, Rollins sustained an injury that not only caused him considerable pain but also disrupted WWE's creative direction.
Insiders suggest Rollins was originally booked to win the bout and begin a high-profile feud with Intercontinental Champion Gunther leading into SummerSlam, WWE’s flagship summer PLE scheduled for August 2–3. However, Seth Rollins’ current physical condition has forced WWE management to rethink those plans entirely.
With Gunther having recently retired Goldberg, speculation has emerged that the Austrian powerhouse may now shift focus toward a potential bout with John Cena, possibly as Cena’s retirement match later this year in December.
Future unclear as Seth Rollins awaits injury assessment
Rollins’ future availability remains uncertain. Sources indicate that the 2025 Money in the Bank winner was in visible pain after the match and could face time away from in-ring action, though a formal diagnosis has not yet been released.
Seth Rollins recently praised John Cena in an interview with ET Now, stating:
“He’s in his final year with us in WWE. He’s having his last run, and he’s making every single pound. He’s there all the time. He’s doing all the pay-per-views. He’s defending the championship... I mean, he’s just an all-around great guy.”
As WWE awaits updates on Rollins' status, the path to SummerSlam now stands in flux, with possible reshuffling of feuds and storylines imminent.
