Baseball’s brightest stars are one step closer to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, as Major League Baseball has officially unveiled the list of finalists who will compete for starting positions in this year’s Midsummer Classic. With MLB All-Star Voting entering its final phase, fan favorites across both leagues are now locked in a tight race to secure a coveted starting role.

Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani lead the pack

Two of baseball's biggest names—Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers—have already clinched their spots in the starting lineup. Both superstars dominated Phase One of the fan voting, with Judge earning 4,012,983 votes in the American League and Ohtani pulling in 3,967,668 votes as the National League’s designated hitter. Their overwhelming popularity leaves no doubt that fans are eager to see them headline the show in July.

Voting enters final phase

With the initial MLB All-Star Voting complete, MLB has opened the final round of balloting, which began Monday at noon ET and runs through Wednesday, July 2 at noon ET. Fans can cast their votes to determine who will join Judge and Ohtani as starters in the 2025 All-Star Game. The winners will be officially announced on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

American League finalists breakdown

In the American League, several breakout and returning stars are in contention:

Catchers: Alejandro Kirk (Blue Jays) and Cal Raleigh (Mariners)

First Basemen: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays) vs. Paul Goldschmidt (Yankees)

Second Basemen: Jackson Holliday (Orioles) vs. Gleyber Torres (Tigers)

Shortstops: Jacob Wilson (Athletics) vs. Bobby Witt Jr. (Royals)

Third Basemen: Alex Bregman (Red Sox) and Jose Ramirez (Guardians)

Outfielders: Javier Baez, Riley Greene (Tigers), Steven Kwan (Guardians), and Mike Trout (Angels)

Designated Hitters: Ryan O’Hearn (Orioles) vs. Ben Rice (Yankees)

The National League ballot also features a fierce competition between established legends and emerging names:

Catchers: Carson Kelly (Cubs) vs. Will Smith (Dodgers)

First Basemen: Pete Alonso (Mets) vs. Freddie Freeman (Dodgers)

Second Basemen: Tommy Edman (Dodgers) vs. Ketel Marte (D-backs)

Shortstops: Mookie Betts (Dodgers) vs. Francisco Lindor (Mets)
