Fan declines Dodgers' $300K offer for Shohei Ohtani's milestone 50th home run ball

He achieved this feat during his teams win 20-4 win over Miami Marlins, where Ohtani recorded three home runs and stole two bases. Ohtani even recorded a hit in each of his six plate appearances that night.

 

A whopping offer of $300,000 was refused by a lucky fan

 

The ball that Ohtani hit out of the park to reach the 50-50 milestone is now the most coveted piece in MLB history. According to the sports anchor, Andy Slater, a lucky fan who was able to get his hands on that very ball refused a whopping $300,000 from the Dodgers organization in exchange for it.

 

It was a very wise decision taken by that very fan who refused the offer. When Aaron Judge broke the record for most home runs in an AL season with his 62nd blast in 2022, the ball was later sold for $1.5 million in an auction.

The LA Dodgers defeated the Colorado Rockies 6-4 at the Dodger Stadium on Friday, 20th September. Eight different pitchers took the mound for the LA Dodgers. It was the visitors who saw themselves leading 2-0 but the Dodgers changed the match with three quick home runs.

 

Shohei Ohtani didn't just stop after reaching the 50-50 milestone on Thursday, 19th September. He hit another home run and stole another base in the win over the Rockies. In this season till now, Ohtani has 52 home runs and 52 stolen bases. He has a batting average of .297 and 122 RBIs.

 

Both Ohtani and the Dodgers will be eyeing to clinch the series against the Rockies on Saturday, 21st September.

 

Shohei Ohtani is the highest-earning athlete in the world

Ohtani grabbed the biggest deal in the sport's history in December after leaving the Los Angeles Angels as he joined the Dodgers on a 10-year $700m (£527m) contract. The deal established him as one of the highest-earning athletes in the world.
