The disagreement between Magic Johnson and Anthony Edwards arose when the latter said that players from the past had fewer skills than players in today's generation.

On Friday, 27th September, Television host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel brought up Los Angeles Dodgers' Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani's name while talking to Magic Johnson about his 'beef' with Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

What was the disagreement between Magic Johnson and Anthony Edwards?

As a five-time NBA champion, three-time NBA MVP, and three-time NBA finals MVP, Magic Johnson is considered one of the best point guards ever.

The disagreement between both Johnson and Edwards arose when the latter said that players from the past had fewer skills than players in today's generation. Since then, the matter has grown and lots of previous-era players have commented on the issue including Johnson.

In one of the episodes of the popular talk show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', the American host jokingly took Shohei Ohtani's name when talking about Edward's comments.

"Wouldn't it be funny, you should buy the (Minnesota) Timberwolves. Just to scare the cr*p out of him, bring him in for his contract, and go 'Anthony, this thing about the skill, I'm paying Ohtani two million dollars (per year), you wanna be in that boat too?'" Kimmel said.

Kimmel even mentioned that Magic Johnson should buy the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team in which Anthony Edwards plays. He is the proud owner of many sports franchises including the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB), Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA), Los Angeles FC (MLC), Washington Commanders (NFL), Washington Spirit (NWSL) and eSports franchise Team Liquid.

Shohei Ohtani breaks the stolen base record

After winning the NL West title with a victory over the San Diego Padres, the Los Angeles Dodgers kept their winning streak alive in an 11-4 triumph over the Colorado Rockies at their home stadium, Coors Field.

Shohei Ohtani kept his impressive form of hitting home runs and racking up stolen bases as he stole his 57th base of the season. With this, he broke Ichiro Suzuki's record for most stolen bases by a Japanese player in a single season. The record was achieved in the 2001 season.

In the sixth inning, Ohtani hit his 54th home run of the season and helped his team add three more runs to their lead. Ohtani's batting average in the last ten matches has been .591, with seven homers and 22 RBIs. The fans of the LA Dodgers would be excited to see what Ohtani has to offer in the playoffs.
