Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving has been streaming since 2022 and has amassed 188k followers on his platform. He has joined the list of other NBA players who started streaming and the list includes Karl-Anthony Towns, Ben Simmons and Devin Booker.
The 2016 NBA champion recently revealed in a short social media clip who inspired him to begin streaming. It was none other than Kai Cenat and YourRage who inspired Irving to open up his own YouTube channel.
Kai Cenat and YourRage inspiration for Kyrie
"Definitely shout out 'YRG,' YourRage, Kai [Cenat]... Kai and YourRage were definitely the ones to kinda introduce me into this world. It seems like they've taken over this whole streaming world. They're doing their thing and I don't wanna not mention any other streamers that are doing their thing, too. Shout out to all you guys," Kyrie added.
Kai Cenat is one of the most famous streamers in the world. He has 13.2 million followers on his Twitch account and nearly 6.47 on YouTube. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry like Nicki Minaj, comedian Kevin Hart and Rich Paul, who is the agent of LeBron James.
Whereas, YourRage is not as famous as Kai Cenat but he too has 1.5 million followers on Twitch and 298.5k on Kick. Both the streamers have had an impact on their audiences which is the biggest reason why Irving was drawn to this world of streaming.
Irving's giveaway to Kai Cenat
Back in 2023, Kyrie Irving took a break from his Twitch account because he didn't like how people treated his friend. He was talking about Kai Cenat, who was blocked by Twitch back then.
Over the years, their bond has grown. Cenat said that Irving gave him tickets to Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals. "Kyrie has invited me to the finals. And he's setting me up some tickets for the finals. My boy, Kyrie. Bro, I spoke to Kyrie and he's setting me up for the Finals," he said.
