Angel Reese previously stated she would choose leaving if the team performs the same way

Angel Reese apologized to the players following her controversial remarks

Angel Reese is the talk of the town after her strong words on the team and the player’s performance following which the Chicago Sky star was suspended. Her controversial remarks clearly upset many within the organization. Meanwhile, an analyst has suggested Reese’s potential trade to the Dallas Wings as the team are lacking a point-guard for long-term future after Paige Bueckers.

Analyst hints potential Angel Reese trade to Dallas Wings

As per the Sporting News contributor David Suggs, the Wings might want to have Reese in their team as the 23-year-old had previously stated she would choose to leave if her side continues to perform like this. The content producer suggested:

“The Dallas Wings have their point guard of the future in Paige Bueckers. But outside of that, they're lacking in long-term pieces. Reese has made serious strides as a secondary ball-handler and playmaker, all while continuing to make a presence as a rebounder and defender.”

The analyst further suggested that to acquire Reese, the Wings will have to let go “with some serious assets.” As per the writer, the Wings who are currently on the 13th position in WNBA, will also have to “shell out draft capital to land Reese, including potential lottery picks in 2026 and 2027.” However, Suggs believes that bringing Reese in the team would work for them when she plays alongside Bueckers.

As per reports, Reese might have already played her last game with the Sky and will possibly request a trade in the offseason. The player had openly showed off her frustration for the team before she finally spilled it out suggesting she will look to leave if they continue to lose games.

What did Reese say which landed her into suspension?

Reese previously stated while speaking to the reporters that she is not “settling for the same s-” this year. She then suggested that the team has to “get good players” and “great players” which is “non-negotiable” for her. As a result, the former LSU Tigers star was handed a suspension despite her apology to the players and the team.

This has sparked trade rumors, however, the Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca has told the reporters that she is still part of the team. He, according to Alexa Philippou at ESPN said, “until I hear differently, that’s the direction we’re going to move, is that she’s on the roster.” Nevertheless, this hasn't ruled out the possibility of her trade.
