Story Highlights:

A year-old clip shows Zion Williamson awkwardly shutting down a Chicago Bulls staff member’s recruitment remark at the United Center.

With the trade deadline approaching, Chicago is again linked as a potential landing spot amid questions over Williamson’s market value.

A video clip of a Chicago Bulls staff member trying to recruit New Orleans Pelicans icon Zion Williamson has resurfaced. There has been a lot of discussion around the Pelicans' plan for Williamson ahead of the February 5 NBA trade deadline. In the middle of this, an old video has been resurfaced.

Zion Williamson's awkward conversation with the Bulls staff member

It is a video clip shared on TikTok by the account @courtsideshod a year ago. It showcased a fan who was recording while waiting for a photo opportunity with Williamson at the United Center in Chicago. As the star forward was walking, he greeted one of the Bull's staff members, who brought up the big man's interest in joining the organization.

"Heard you want to play for us?" the Bulls staffer said.

Williamson was shocked by what was said to him and told the staffer to lower his voice about the matter.

"Whoa. Don’t say it out loud," Williamson said.

While that clip was from a year ago, it has not stopped Williamson from being linked to the Bulls. Ahead of the trade deadline, ClutchPoints insider Brett Siegell claimed that Chicago could be a possible landing spot for the former Duke star.

"I’ve heard that there’s been some smoke there about Chicago scouting New Orleans in recent weeks, and Zion would be the ideal buy-low candidate for a team like the Bulls who have a lot of expiring contracts," Siegel said.

Zion Williamson's low market value

What the Pelicans want to do with Zion Williamson has not been revealed. His injury history has affected his trade value. The team might not receive a high return value for the two-time All-Star. This season, he has averaged 22.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists through 23 games.
