The Cleveland Cavaliers will be all set to host Indiana Pacers for the Game 1 of the Conference semifinals on Sunday, May 04 at the Rocket Arena. All eyes would be on Darius Garland, whether star player features against Indiana Pacers or not.

Will Darius Garland play against Indiana Pacers?

Head coach Kenny Atkinson has provided major update on Garland's condition as his comments on the point guard left plenty of uncertainty. The 25-year-old point guard has been dealing with a sprained left big toe and has been listed on the team's injury report as questionable. The two-time All-Star missed Games 3 and 4 of the Cavaliers first round series against Miami Heat due to the same injury.

Atkinson further mentioned that Garland took full participation in Friday's practise session and was given an off for Saturday as part of his recovery plan. The team will further re-evaluate Garland on Sunday morning and assess how his toe responded to the workload.

Regardless of whether he plays or not, Atkinson mentioned that Cavaliers will look to rely on their depth to carry them forward. He even mentioned that Garland won't be 100% fit for the remainder of the playoffs.

I’m not going to make a judgment either way, Atkinson said of Garland's injury. But sure, there’s some concern there. I could see it go either way. I think it’s something he’s going to have to deal with probably the rest of the playoffs.

During Darius Garland's absence, coach Atkinson had to go with the likes of Sam Merrill as he started in place of him. Merrill went scoreless in Game 3 but bounced back during Game 4 as he finished the match with nine points.
