Story Highlights:

Cameron Johnson injured his right shoulder during the Nuggets’ win over the Timberwolves but tried to play through the pain.

Coach David Adelman shared an optimistic update, saying the injury doesn’t appear to be serious.

Denver Nuggets will lock horns with the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. The Nuggets have one player placed on their injury report, with Cameron Johnson "questionable" due to a right shoulder injury. The highly skilled 3-and-D specialist, who is on a $94,500,000 deal, suffered the injury during the Nuggets' 127-114 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.

Johnson took an exit in the first quarter but returned and attempted to play with the pain. After playing a few minutes in the second and third quarters, the star forward left the match and went back to the dressing room in the fourth quarter as he was stressed by pain in his shoulder.

Latest on Cameron Johnson

Denver' coach, David Adelman, provided an optimistic update after the game against Timberwolves, and appreciated Johnson's mental strength after he tried to play through pain.

"Shoulder was hurting him (Johnson). I don't think it's extremely serious, but it was bothersome," Adelman said. "To his credit, he came back out and tried to play."

Johnson started along with Nikola Jokic in each of the first three games. He still has not hit his stride in Denver, with his 3-point shooting being completely below average to begin the season. Johnson has made just three of his 12 shots from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, further update on Johnson's fitness is expected when Adelman interacts with the media during the pregame presser.
