Former Lakers forward reveals NEW details on Dennis Schroder-Luka Doncic altercation

Story Highlights:

Markieff Morris claimed Schroder initiated contact with Dončić before the situation escalated.

Paul Pierce sided with Schroder, saying Dončić’s trash talk crossed a personal line tied to lost money.

Dennis Schroder of the Sacramento Kings is currently facing a three-game suspension without pay for trying to strike Luka Doncic. Former LA Lakers forward Markieff Morris revealed more details regarding the incident, which took place on December 28 at Crypto.com Arena.

Markieff Morris makes big claim

On the latest edition of the "Morris Code" podcast with Marcus and Markieff Morris, the one-time NBA champ dropped more information regarding what really took place. Schroder allegedly "touched" Doncic before Deandre Ayton stepped in and led further escalation.

"This sh*t like this should never happen," Markieff said. "This man put his hands on him. He touched him. He touched him up a little bit."

Markieff Morris revealed that Dennis Schroder has always been "feisty," though he is cool with the Sacramento Kings guard. They were former teammates with the OKC Thunder, but things didn't stat cool between them.

They almost engaged in a fight while playing cards on a plane, so he was not shocked Schroder went after Luka Doncic. Nevertheless, it is still early to say at this point since the NBA has already suspended Schroder for three games without pay.

Paul Pierce gives honest opinion on Luka Doncic-Dennis Schroder incident

Luka Doncic and Dennis Schroder were having a clash all the time during the game on December 28 prior to their altercation. They have a long history with their respective national teams in international events.

One trash talk from Doncic that went viral was when he brought up Schroder, fumbling a four-year, $84 million extension from the LA Lakers in 2021. He turned it down, but the free agent market was not great. At last, he signed a one-year, $5.9 million deal with the Boston Celtics.

Speaking on the "No Fouls Given" podcast, Pierce dropped his honest opinion on the incident, siding with Schroder instead of Doncic.

"That's a sensitive subject because he lost out on a lot of money," Pierce said. "You don’t want to hear that. He’s making money now, but that was his payback. He missed it. … I got to stand on this. That’s almost like messing with somebody’s girl or something."

After one season in Boston, Schroder penned a minimum contract with the Lakers in 2022. He then earned a two-year, $25 million deal with the Toronto Raptors in 2024 before getting a three-year, $44 million contract with the Sacramento Kings last offseason.
