The Golden State Warriors faced a scare when star Stephen Curry had to exit their preseason game against the Sacramento Kings due to a hand injury. Coach Steve Kerr provided an important update on Curry’s condition afterward.

Curry started the game strong, tallying 6 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, and 1 three-pointer in 16 minutes before his injury. His absence was noticeable, but the Warriors showed their competitiveness without their star player.

He left the game in the second quarter and did not return, raising alarm among fans. Kerr clarified that Curry's removal was precautionary, stating there was no significant cause for concern.

“I was assured at halftime that he was fine. X-rays were negative. It wasn’t anything too concerning. But yeah, you always get nervous when he gets hurt," Kerr told reporters, according to clutch points.

Klay Thompson's departure

In Curry's absence, the Warriors still managed to defeat the Kings 109-106, with Moses Moody leading the way, scoring 23 points. The team will closely monitor Curry's recovery and hopes he can return soon.In other news, Klay Thompson's departure from Golden State marked the end of an era alongside Curry and Draymond Green, with the trio winning four NBA championships together. Thompson has decided to pursue new opportunities in Dallas.

Curry revealed that he learned about Thompson's move when he arrived at the Warriors' training camp. Reflecting on the news, he told ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, “Put it this way, he can ask, but I don’t have to listen.”

He added, “[Klay] would usually enter the practice facility coming off his boat, with his Dockers on, whatever outfit he had on. He just had a presence about him, a lightness when he came into the room. And his one-liners were always great. … Life throws a lot of curveballs in sports. You’re used to seeing people change places and teams. [However], up until about a week before he decided to sign with Dallas, we never really thought it was going to end.”

Thompson left a lasting legacy with the  Warriors during his time with the team. He was a key player in the four championships they won.
