Davis had also stated earlier the reason behind his support for the Packers instead of the Chicago Bears

Anthony Davis' picture wearing a Green Bay Packers jersey has been going viral on the internet. The Dallas Mavericks player has not played enough matches to win hearts in his new franchise following a shocking trade that stunned the whole NBA community back in February. While the player is reported to be sidelined for more time, the former Los Angeles Lakers star was seen in Jordan Love’s Packers jersey as the Mavericks hosted the Portland Trail Blazers.

Davis’ decision to sit in a Packer's jersey did not sit well with the Dallas Cowboys fans following a historic rivalry between the two NFL teams. Some NBA fans even stated that the forward has found a perfect way to get traded from the franchise by wearing the rival jersey. However, the story is different.

Yes. Anthony Davis is a die-hard Green Bay Packer fan. Long-term NBA fans are well aware of his love for the NFL franchise. Although the player, who is not from Dallas, supports the Cowboys, he grew up in Chicago, and he has been open about his strong connection with the Packers. The 32-year-old is often seen showing off his support from the side.

Back in 2020, Davis took his then-teammate of the Lakers, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, and assistant coach Mike Penberthy to the NFL playoff game between the Packers and the Seattle Seahawks, which was held in Wisconsin.

Davis had also stated earlier the reason behind his support for the Packers instead of the Chicago Bears. As per a report on SI website, Davis stated:

"I knew some guys from the Packers and just became a fan.”

The Mavericks star further said:

“I get a lot of hate and stuff from it but I don't really care. It's football. It's not my fault that the [Chicago] Bears aren't playing well."

Meanwhile, Davis is set to miss at least  seven-to-10 more days as he recovers from a calf injury. The franchise, on the other hand, has been struggling with a 4-10 record as they stand 13th in the Western Conference.
