The Dallas Mavericks are set to face the Philadelphia 76ers in their upcoming fixture of the ongoing NBA 2025-26 season. The Mavs continue to struggle with their form as they stand 12th in the Western Conference with a disappointing 12-22 record.

Davis has been sidelined since two games with what the franchise described as right adductor soreness. The former Los Angeles Lakers star sustained the injury during Christmas Day’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Meanwhile, as the Mavs play the 76ers next, the question arises whether the NBA Champion will be in the lineup. Let's have a look. 

Is Anthony Davis playing against 76ers? Latest on Mavericks star 

Yes. Anthony Davis will play in the Dallas Mavericks vs Philadelphia 76ers match on Thursday, January 1, 2026. The power forward is set to make his return in the Mavs’ first game of the new year. According to the head coach, Jason Kidd, Davis will be limited to around 30 to 34 minutes against the 76ers on Thursday. 

Davis was forced to exit in the clash against the Warriors following a right groin injury as he suffered while running down the floor early in the second quarter. He has attended only 15 of the 31 games in the 2025-26 season.  

Meanwhile, the Mavericks are coming off a 122-125 loss against the Portland Trail Blazers. Deni Avdija almost scored a triple-double to power the Trail Blazers beat the Mavericks. Advija recorded 27 points, 11 assists andx nine rebounds. Additionally, Shaedon Sharpe added 24 points to contribute to the win.
