Giannis Antetokounmpo is likely to miss the Milwaukee Bucks' regular-season clash against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday. The Bucks will play on the second night of a back-to-back, having registered a thrilling 117-115 win against the Indiana Pacers on Monday.
Antetokounmpo played against the Pacers and gave a fantastic performance, including knocking down the game-winning fadeaway jumper at the buzzer. He ended the game with 33 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 32 minutes.
The two-time league MVP has been bothered by a knee injury this season, which recently restricted him to miss the game against the Golden State Warriors last month. Giannis Antetokounmpo also went down on the floor and grimaced with pain, holding his left knee during the dying stages of Monday's game.
The Bucks would be interested in resting their star forward against the Raptors, keeping in mind the quick turnaround. Furthermore, the one-time NBA champion's long-term health stays the priority for Milwaukee, and missing a game or two in November won't make any difference.
The Bucks are likely to take a more conservative approach to avoid chances of any further aggravation of their poster boy's injury. The "Greek Freak" has been injured during the last three playoffs, resulting in the Bucks' first-round exit all three times.
If Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn't play against the Raptors, the responsibility will fall on Kyle Kuzuma, Ryan Rollins, and Gary Trent Jr.'s shoulders to carry the big responsibility. Myles Turner would need to step up defensively to cover the vacuum left by Antetokounmpo.
